The Art of Rod Becklund

Rod Becklund, who lives nearby in Florida, enjoys reflecting nature through his original works of art.   Originally a wood carver of many different great waterfowl of Florida, Rod had so many orders, that he began reproducing the wood carved birds from composite materials.   He designs these very realistic, life-like birds to sit on cedar driftwood among natural reeds.  The birds are hand painted, then signed and numbered.  This process allows Rod to limit the editions, but still let the many patrons to collect his great works of art.  These are the carvings he favors:  Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, White Ibis, Scarlet Ibis, Glossy Ibis, Roseate Spoonbill, Sandhill Crane, Whooping Crane, Yellow Crowned Night Heron, Belted Kingfisher, Little Blue Heron, Louisiana Tricolored Heron, Reddish Egret, Brown Pelican, and the White Pelican.  The birds accurately mimic their real counterparts.  You will be amazed at their grace and beauty.  They are truly heirloom pieces whose realism stirs up positive reactions of wonder and awe in all who behold them.
